Telugu glam dolls who lost sheen after delivering box office hits

Posted on April 15, 2025

Unlike the fandom that male actors in Tollywood enjoy, the career of female counterparts’ career is not all bed of roses. There were times when Telugu male stars bounce back at the box office with one hit after dishing out some of the box office disasters, but this is not the case with female actors. The fame of glamour dolls would soon get faded out within three to four films if they fail to be ahead of the game at the Telugu box office. Telugu producers would think twice to offer chances to such artistes in the industry.

Here are some of the Telugu female leads who lost sheen over the period after delivering some great box office hits.

Shalini Pandey: After achieving overnight success with Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Arjun Reddy’, Shalini made a splash with ‘118’. However, she had to face box office defeat with successive films later ‘Iddari Lokam Okkate’ and Nishabdam’.

Saiee Manjrekar is another beauty who was introduced with action biographical drama Major. However, she later bite the dust with ‘Skanda’ and ‘Ghani’. Thus, she eventually lost offers in Tollywood. Saiee’s only ray of hope in Telugu cinema is ‘Arjun S/o Vijayanthi’.

Faria Abdullah: Faria has acquired a cult status of sorts with ‘Jathi Ratnalu’. The offers kept pouring for her because of her looks. But subsequent films during the run, made producers to think twice to chose her after her recent flicks ‘Aa Okkati Adakku’, ‘Ravanasura’ and ‘Like Share Subscribe’ have turned out to be duds.

Anu Emanuel: The Mallu beauty enjoys a separate fanbase in Telugu cinema even though her stint has been very short. Soon after her famed flick with Nani — ‘Majnu’, she never hogged limelight and eventually she is restricted to Tamil and Malayalam industries.
