Odela 2 Review: Tamannaah Shines in a Scary Thriller

Posted on April 17, 2025

‘Odela 2’ is directed by Ashok Teja and creatively supervised by Sampath Nandi, the film is a sequel to ‘Odela Railway Station’. Produced by new filmmaker Madhu, the movie created a lot of hype with its promotions and finally released in theatres on April 17. Let’s see how scary and thrilling this sequel really is!

What’s the Story?
The story begins where ‘Odela Railway Station’ ended. A man named Tirupati (Vashishta Simha) used to rape and kill newlywed women on their wedding night. His wife Radha (Hebbah Patel) kills him, and the village punishes him with a ritual called “Samadhi Bandham”. But instead of ending his evil, this turns him into a powerful ghost. Once again, women in the village start dying in the same way. A spiritual man named Alla Bhakshu (Murali Sharma) says that Tirupati’s ghost is behind this. The villagers ask Radha to help again, but she says only her sister Bhairavi (Tamannaah), who is an Aghori (a mystic), can stop this. The rest of the movie shows how Bhairavi faces the ghost and tries to save the village.

Analysis
Even though the basic story is already known from the promos, the director presents it in a gripping way. The first half builds slowly, but it becomes interesting once Tamannaah enters. The interval twist is very strong. In the second half, Bhairavi’s fight with the ghost is a bit predictable in places, but the climax is powerful. The visuals and background music work really well. Some scenes even give you goosebumps.

Actors’ Performances
* Tamannaah: As Bhairavi, she plays a bold and intense role—very different from her usual glamorous image. Possibly her best performance yet.

* Vashishta Simha: Scary and powerful as the ghost of Tirupati.

* Hebbah Patel: Has limited screen time but plays a key part.

* Supporting actors also do a good job in their roles.

Technical Team
*Dialogues by Sampath Nandi are strong in many places.

* Music & BGM by Ajaneesh Loknath is excellent. His background score adds a lot to the film’s scary feel.

* Graphics are good and match the movie’s tone. The Shiva–Nandi scene stands out.

* Cinematography: Visuals are high quality and suit the horror theme.

Final Verdict
‘Odela 2’ is a dark and intense horror thriller. With a raw and rustic touch, this movie is not for the faint-hearted. But if you enjoy scary and thrilling movies, this one gives you goosebumps for sure!
