Will the Kiran government survive through the budget session?
The moot question is why Botsa Satyanarayana , the PCC chief is unhappy at Kiran Kumar Reddy’s continued existence as CM Whether the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will see through the budget session is not a big surprise, but is shocking everyone is why both Kiran and Botsa are at logger heads even in times of external crisis .
Congress is now without an ally – MIM or TRS and TDP alone appears to be its savoir as its strength in assembly is reduced to 146, two short of magic 2/3 figure of 148.
Hence YSRCP is provoking TDP and use it as bait to get congress to release Jagan or threaten to topple Kiran Govt. Congress delaying Telangana and also merger of TRS as it feels merger will not be of any advantage as it occurred in case of Praja Rajyam.
Satyanarayana said that the party has already issued show-cause notices to these MLAs and if there was no response from them, they would be expelled. Eight of the nine MLAs have pledged support to YSR Congress and joined the party.
One reason why the PCC chief dropped the bombshell is that there will be no threat to the Congress government technically as five of the nine expelled MLAs have already resigned which will be accepted by Speaker Nadendla Manohar any day.
With this the House will have 289 members and the magic figure needed for the government’s survival is 145. Since the number of Congress MLAs, after the expulsion of nine MLAs, will be 146 including the vote of Speaker, there is no immediate threat to the government unless some more MLAs quit the party.
Now an angry TRS (17), canny YSRCP (17) and an edgy TDP (86) can ruin the party for Kiran. Adding to its woes is the exodus in seemandhra region as Congress has clearly hinted at giving Telangana.
The Telugu Desam, now feels safe with the belligerent rule of congress and is not giving into the provocations of the YSRCP to move a no confidence motion now.
Now the question why should Botsa do it if the high command has not asked him,. It is clear now that the congress high command is just testing the waters in Hyderabad as to what Jagan is really up to. The It is some sort of provoking YSRCP to move a motion or make a compromise with congress and the getting Jagan out of jail?
