Landmines and bombs found in the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s constituency created flutters. Landmines were found during road works in Uyyalapenta under KV Palli mandal. Police rushed to the spot along with the bomb squad and defused the landmines.
Following this startling find, police launched ntense search at Bakarapet, Rompicherla and KV Palli forest border areas. They found two more landmines at Appireddigaripalle. Finding of these landmines in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s constituency of Pileru had rattled the police. Police undertook intense search of the area after a former naxalite informed that there were more landmines and bombs in the area.
Police found electric wire of a landmine near Talupula on the Pileru-Elamanda road. They are continuing intense searches in the constituency. Two carriage bombs were also found in the Jillelamanda forest area on the borders of Kambhamvaaripalle and Eravaripalem mandals. Police found two landmines in the same area, six months ago.
